Applications PLC Sydney is seeking an inspiring and dynamic educator to join our College as the Head of Junior School Science (K-6). This is a unique leadership opportunity for a specialist Science teacher to shape and deliver an engaging, challenging, and innovative Science curriculum, maximising educational options and fostering a passion for scientific inquiry in our Junior School girls. Key Responsibilities: - Specialist Teaching and Curriculum: Develop, deliver, and monitor K-6 specialist Science programs. Ensure NESA Curriculum alignment, teach/co-teach classes, differentiate instruction, and support general classroom teachers' Science skills.
- Leadership and Resources: Provide academic and pedagogical leadership, contribute to professional development, collaborate with Junior School leaders on curriculum implementation, and manage the purchasing and maintenance of Science resources.
- Science Promotion and Engagement: Elevate the profile of Science by coordinating competitions, initiating events like National Science Week, developing co-curricular opportunities, and communicating Science activities to students and families.
The successful candidate will be: A Visionary leader with a deep commitment to best-practice teaching. Dedicated to the education of girls. Pivotal in promoting a challenging learning environment (within and beyond the classroom). Able to collaborate closely with Junior School staff.
