About the Role: The Head of Learning & Teaching is an Executive position at PLC Sydney, making you instrumental in fostering a culture of professional excellence and innovation. Your primary focus will be to ensure the quality and effectiveness of teaching across the senior school. Key Responsibilities: - Lead Pedagogical Strategy: Direct the design and management of the College's teaching and learning framework, ensuring all practices align with the educational vision and strategic goals.
- Champion Quality Teaching Culture: Develop a strong ethos of quality teaching, lead the Professional Development program and budget, and act as the Teacher Accreditation (TAA) delegate.
- Oversee Academic Excellence and Compliance: Monitor best-practice pedagogy, ensure compliance with NESA/ISTAA requirements, oversee academic transitions, and manage essential student reporting and data submissions.
The ideal candidate will require: - Visionary Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience in a significant senior or pedagogical leadership role, exhibiting dynamic, ethical leadership and the ability to represent an organisational vision with professionalism.
- Expertise in Pedagogy and Accreditation: Extensive, current knowledge of best-practice teaching and learning environments (Years 7-12), and proven ability to manage and oversee teacher professional development and accreditation (ISTA/NESA compliance).
- Strategic and Collaborative Management: A strong ability to work cooperatively with school leaders and Heads of Faculty to implement strategic change, manage complex projects, and be a confident point of contact for parent, student, and staff feedback.
